Self-Leadership: Aligning Actions with Goals for Female Entrepreneurs

Creating a life on your terms

A while back, I discovered the concept of self-leadership, and it resonated with me deeply. Self-leadership involves having a clear image of who you are, what you can do, and where you are going. This means creating a life on your own terms—living where you desire, pursuing work you’re passionate about, and achieving your ideal work-life balance. Mastering your self-leadership enables you to design a life that nurtures happiness and elevates your overall quality of life.

Every day, you make choices that reflect your priorities. Yet, at times, you may neglect tasks that are important to you, wasting time on activities that don’t contribute to your overall life quality. Therefore, let’s reflect on your self management skills and explore ways to align your actions with your goals and values.

When you experience overwhelm and clutter, it’s a signal to set priorities, boundaries, let go of what you can’t control and set up a system to work on your goals.

For you to establish the desired life-work balance, YOU need to take the metaphorical reins of your life – and not someone else.

Create a life that makes you happy. Don’t become a surgeon only because it’s your family tradition. Don’t be scared to venture out on your own path. Say no to people, events or activities that don’t contribute to your personal or professional growth. You will have many offers and distractions, the key is to have a clear vision, a goal, and to be decisive and determined to reach it. Create a strategic plan of how to get there. Invest in personal self-development. Keep your brain active by learning new things and building new skills. Be creative and pragmatic. Keep a fine balance between learning through others or learning by doing things yourself. A trap entrepreneurs often get into is thinking they are never ready, and they sign up for one course after the other. But where you really GROW is when you start doing and making mistakes.

Considering failures as stepping stones

Consider failures and errors as stepping stones for your personal and professional growth journey. Keep an eye on the details, but don’t let perfectionism stop you from taking action. Once you bring out your concept, post, podcast, blog or website, it’s only a first version. You can update it later, the important thing is that now it exists outside your brain, ready to be tested, refined, and polished.

Steve Jobs quote:
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Questions:
Future:
1) What would you like to achieve next/this year?
2) What would you like to do in the near future?
3) What do you want to dedicate your time to?
4) Which dreams do you want to accomplish?

Today:
5) What are your top priorities for this week?
6) What can you eliminate from your agenda today that is not truly urgent?
7) What would you like to have achieved by the end of today?
8) How can you make the most of this day to inch closer to your future vision?
